Using the Chrome Remote Desktop

The Chrome remote desktop offers you the easiest way of accessing the system. Not only it’s simple to set up but also lets you do the job quickly. The option works for any operating system. It could either be Windows, Mac, Linux, Android or iOS.

Step 1: Go to the Google Chrome web store and download the extension.

Step 2: After installing the extension, launch the app by clicking ‘Apps’ present in the bookmarks bar.

Step 3: When you launch the extension for the first time, you should enable remote connections. You can easily do the task by clicking the button shown in the image below.

Step 4: Post installation, you would have to enter a PIN once you view a prompt on the screen.

Step 5: Wait for some time till the connection is enabled. Once done, a list of accessible systems is displayed. You are then pretty sure about fetching data from the connected systems.

Just like Chrome Remote Desktop, it’s easy to set up and use Teamviewer. But, the downside is that you have to go through many steps to secure the system. In case if you fail to do so, you would actually be giving way to threats and attacks.

Step 1: Download the latest version of Teamviewer from the URL: https://www.teamviewer.com/.

Step 2: During the installation process, you need to select suitable options related to the installation type and the purpose. If you are using the tool solely for your benefit, then select ‘Personal / Non-commercial use’. However, you should be honest while making the selection.

Step 3: Click ‘Accept – Finish’ and wait till the tool gets installed.

Step 4: Once you see the dialog box of Teamviewer you would be furnished with a remote ID and PIN. Such details are useful when you want someone else to access your computer. But, if you’re not at the office, then you have to set up a TeamViewer account.

Step 5: Whenever required, set up the account by clicking ‘Sign Up’ in a small window towards the right.

To connect to your PC from a communication device, you need to follow certain steps.

Step 1: Download and install the app from the online store. You can use the app for Android or iOS.

Step 2: Tap on ‘Computers’ and sign into the account with the credentials you had created earlier.

Step 3: Later, tap on ‘My Computers’ and select the system you wish to access.
